Topics and achievements for the Restoration and Service Improvement Group include:
- Supporting pathways and process to ensure ongoing delivery of services across region
- Escalating concerns around local delivery of national guidance
- Escalating specific challenges for review such as capacity to support dental backlogs across the region
- Review of MRI provision comparing usage of general anesthetic, sedation and other practice in this area leading to develop of targeted clinical working group and best practice recommendations
- Sharing examples of good practice across the region including reviewing of theatre utilisation data and prioritisation processes
Ongoing priorities for the group in 2025/26 have been identified as:
- Scoping survey to understand support to dental pathways that require a General Anaethetic
- Regular review of waiting list and improvement metric data to support service delivery.
- Sharing approaches to improve theatre utilisation and productivity
- Sharing opportunities for improvements to paediatric surgical pathways such as ‘Walk In Walk Out’ policies
- Sharing of practice regarding child and parent experience of services across the region
- Oversight of development of a education programme for staff who support recovery post-surgery
- Sharing opportunities with regards greener theatres and sustainability initiatives
