In 2021 it was agreed that one of the main priorities for the SW SIC ODN Ear, Nose and Throat Working Group would be to establish clear referral pathways within the network for airway procedures (both elective and emergency). In collaboration with members of the group, a draft guideline was created before final approval at the ENT Working Group meeting in January 2025.
It was also agreed by members of the group that following the completion of these best practice guidelines, the network will develop a pathway level audit against them. Further updates will be shared on our NHSFutures platform once available.

improvements across the South West Surgery in Children Operational Delivery Network.
