Best Practice Recommendations: Management of suspected NTMCL

The management of atypical TB in the neck was raised as a topic of discussion through the South West Surgery in Children Operational Delivery Network’s ENT Clinical Working Group where it was felt pathways and practices with regards to these patients differed across the region. It was agreed that this variation may well be appropriate however it was also agreed it would be helpful to fully understand the practices being followed so that this could be further discussed through the network group.

Following the results of a survey conducted to gauge variation across the region, the core network team worked with members to facilitate discussions and collate agreed best practice, and will now support teams to deliver these pathway recommendations across the region.. Please note – these recommendations are not meant to replace local clinical protocols
or pathways, and are aimed at supporting regional collaboration and service
improvements across the South West Surgery in Children Operational Delivery Network.
Colleagues are welcome to review the document and feedback is always welcome.
